Pastor Dr. Brenda Devita Ward serves as Pastor at Gospel House Ministries, Inc. under the leadership of her husband, Dr. Herbert Ward, Sr. who serves as the Senior Pastor. 

Pastor Brenda received her foundational training at the Truth Temple Church of God in Christ in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn, New York under the leadership of her father, the late Elder Charles A. Frank. She received salvation at the age of 16 years old at the Goodwill Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of the late Superintendent John L. Butler where she learned the importance of sharing the Gospel with the community. She accepted the call of God to ministry at the age of 35 while serving at Salvation Deliverance Temple, Inc. under the leadership of Bishop Allen C. Barham, Sr. There she served as the Women’s Pastor, Sunday School Superintendent, teacher and choir member. 

Pastor Brenda is an anointed prayer warrior, teacher, preacher, worship leader, and leader of the Women of Worth Ministries (W.O.W. Ministries) and whatever else her hands find to do. 

Pastor Brenda completed the chaplaincy training course approved by the State of New York and conferred by Servants of God Chaplaincy in January 2018.  Pastor Brenda received a Doctor of Christian Education and a Doctor of Ministry conferred by Anointed by God Ministries Alliance in June 2019. The scripture that serves to encourage and gives credibility to her calling can be found in Luke 4:18, 19: 

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; 

To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord. (NKJV) 

Pastor Brenda enjoys reading, singing, teaching, (previously handball, now pickleball), window shopping, and helping others achieve their personal best. She had the pleasure of singing with various choirs: The Angelic Voices (family group), The Gospel Redeemers, The ENY COGIC State Choir, The Soul Stirring Youth Crusade Choir, and The Lindsey Singers. Her favorite songs are: Great is Thou Faithfulness, My Help, If It Had Not Been for the Lord on My Side and Jesus Christ is the Way. 

Pastor Brenda retired from the NYC Department of Education after 34 years of service in June 2022 – where she last served as the founding principal of P.S. 273 (located in Richmond Hill, Queens) for 12 years. Together, she and her husband have three sons; two daughters; two adopted daughters; and seven grandchildren.
